A fun and educational annual event called "Hawaiian Scottish Festival & Highland Games" took place on March 31st and April 1st 2012, at Kapolani Park, Honolulu. Wish beautiful weather several members joined Kathy Hudson to host a table for Honolulu County Genealogical Society in the Clan tent. The Daughters of the American Revolution also shared a table. The goal for HCGS was to answer questions people might have about genealogy, regardless of ethnicity or country of origin. People were invited to attend HCGS on the 2nd Saturday of each month for a meeting. Especially timely would be the next meeting on April 14th for beginning genealogists and all others with questions. Pictures in the tent are below. Lots of Scottish activities were going on in the Park from Highland dancers, Pipe bands, Celtic Groups, Celtic crafts and foods, bands, and Scottish games such as throwing the caber (like a telephone pole) Lots of kilts were seen, even on cute little dogs! Kathy did an interview to be on KIKU television in a Sunday in May. Great event!
