The meeting of the Honolulu County Genealogical
Society will be Saturday Nov 14, 2015 at the usual place, Manoa
Gardens Community room, 2790-9 Kahaloa Dr., Honolulu, Hawaii, at 9:00 am.
The featured presentation is:
“Cemeteries as Genealogical Resources”
by Nanette Napoleon, Director,

Hawaii Cemetery Research Project
Nanette Napoleon is a freelance historical researcher, writer,
and Hawaiian cultural specialist. She is
most well-known for her extensive work documenting and preserving historic
graveyards in Hawai‘i, and promotes graveyards as important historic and
cultural sites by giving cemetery walking tours and lectures in the
community. She has written a book
titled, “Oahu Cemetery Burial Ground & Historic Site”. Nanette has also served on the board of
directors of Oahu Cemetery for 15 years.

We will be having a Christmas/Holiday potluck brunch on Dec
12th at our usual meeting room.
Linda DuBee will be sending out information on this soon. Bring a small gift to this potluck if you
would like to participate in the gift exchange.
Plan on arriving at
8:30 am to find a parking place and help set up the meeting room. Parking
is only in the lot of Manoa District Park, or on public streets, except for two
handicapped places by the meeting room.
