HCGS Meeting Sept 14, 2019 Indexing Genealogy Records

Honolulu County Genealogical Society When: Saturday, Sept 14, 2019, 9am-noon What: Monthly Meeting of Honolulu County Genealogical Society Program:  “Indexing Genealogy Records" with Lenore Hansen-Stafford. This will be a "Hands on" experience  Bring your laptop or tablet.  How to volunteer to index records for FamilySearch was practiced.

         
And a short presentation by Donna Wendt on comparing old photos of ancestor photos and tracking down and comparing their old houses.  A photo taken of the family at "Balanced Rock" in Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs in 1901 is compared with one of later family taken at the same place and angle in 2019.  Also old maps and photos of a family home built in 1901, in Colorado Springs, compared through the years until 2019.  Current home photos may be found on Google Street view and various real estate websites.
